Yesterday marked our quarterly Volunteer Day – and what a day it was!

October was both a challenging and uplifting month at rescue. There were a few heartbreaking moments when we all wondered why we keep doing this … but there were many more that reminded us exactly why we do this.

Yo! Pig-Pen here. They’re trying to call me Linus, but let’s face it: If you’ve ever had a wire-haired, you know we love to roll in the dirt and get filthy … I’m a handsome, young man; not all Jack, so they are calling me a “Jackadoodle.” The vet thinks I am about am about 4 years old and in good health. I’m a little unsure of people at first, but nothing fearful. I am friendly and good with people and other dogs. I just have some nervous habits of running in circles; could be from a puppyhood of being crated or breeding, but nothing that cannot easily be fixed.
